BOC Committees

The Cass County Board of Commissioners has six standing committees. Committees are comprised of members of the board of commissioners, with support from County staff, and are open to the public. Decisions made by committees are recommended to the Board of Commissioners, which votes as a whole to approve or deny the committee's recommendations.

Appointments Committee

Purpose

The Appointments Committee meets to recruit, review and recommend applicants for Cass County's many boards and commissions.

Members

Meeting Schedule

The Appointments Committee meets at 4 p.m. the first Thursday of the month in the Commissioners Work Room, on the third floor of the Cass County Administration Building, 120 N. Broadway, Cassopolis.

Capital Projects Committee

Purpose

The Capital Projects Committee reviews and recommends plans for major improvements to or construction of new facilities.

The Capital Projects Committee meets as needed, at the call of the chair. In adherence to the Open Meetings Act, public notice will be shared in advance of meetings in order to allow the public to attend. Meeting announcements can also be found on Cass County's Calendar of Events.

Policy Committee

Purpose

The Policy Committee meets to  discuss, review and recommend addition of new countywide polices, or removal or amendments to current policies.

The Appointments Committee meets at 2 p.m. the second Thursday of each month in the first-floor conference room of the Cass County Administration Building, 120 N. Broadway, Cassopolis.

Salary Committee

Purpose

The Salary Committee meets to review salary changes of County employees and elected officials.

Surplus Property Committee

Purpose

The Surplus Property Committee reviews and recommends plans for underused County property.
