Thomas Langley resides in Silver Creek Township with his wife of 47 years, Karen. Together, they have three sons and eight grandchildren. He was first elected in 2024 to serve through 2028. 

Thomas owned Langley Insurance Agency for 17 years, until selling the business to Paul Shingledecker of Preferred Insurance Services. He retired from RX Optical after nearly 18 years in management and training new opticians in many local offices.

Civic Involvement

• Cass County Sheriff's Victim Service Unit advocate
• 12 years as deacon and school board member at Calvary Bible Church and Academy

What is the biggest goal you have for Cass County this term? To have open communication between the BOC and the Elected Officials. This is very important so we can know what their needs are for their departments and how to help them meet their needs. Would like to see the Sheriff Department fully staffed 24 hours a day. That the Prosecutors office have a person to look at and edit the bodycam footage so are better prepared to put the criminals behind bars.

What major project or initiative do you most look forward to this term? I would like to see a Countywide ambulance service, to where the whole county has ambulance coverage. I know this is up to each township, but I would like to know if there is anything we as the BOC can do to help out in this matter.

Fun fact: Karen and I have a large vegetable garden where we like to give the harvest to family and friends. I also like to play golf, and fish. We like spending a week every September at Mackinac Island and a week in Gatlinburg in October. We also have laying hens for fresh eggs.
