Civil Service

Civil Service

Purpose

The Civil Service handles all civil process in Cass County that requires a Deputy to serve. This includes, but not limited to: Orders of Eviction, Execution against Property, Levy against Property, and Mortgages/Foreclosure Sales. They also serve other papers as requested by the Courts, Plaintiffs or Attorneys.

Postings

The Sheriff's Office executes Mortgage/Foreclosure Postings. Sales are conducted every Wednesday at 10 a.m. at the Cass County Law and Counts Building. Postings are coordinated through the Undersheriff's Office. The Sheriff's Office does not coordinate the information of properties to be sold. That information is available in the local newspapers and sometimes posted at the Law and Courts Building. The newspaper most commonly used is the Marcellus News.
