Each election since 2024, Cass County voters have left the polls donning their choice of four colorful stickers with hand drawn representations of the region. As the 2026 voting season approaches, local youth will have the opportunity to illustrate the next round of “I Voted” stickers.
With the help of area high schools, Cass County Clerk/Register Monica McMichael is hosting another contest to select the new designs. The winning designs will be seen by thousands of voters on Election Day, serving as a badge of honor for those who have exercised their civic duty.
“We're seeking creative designs that will inspire civic pride and encourage voter participation in upcoming elections,” McMichael said.
The project, launched for the first time in 2024, was designed to build excitement among young people who will soon be of voting age. McMichael said records show significantly lower participation among younger voters than older voters, and hopes the project brings awareness to the importance of voting among young people.
Submissions must include the words “I Voted” and be visually appealing. Participants may submit images on paper to be scanned in or digital images from a computer to their high school art teacher, or directly to the Cass County Clerk/Register’s Office at 120 N. Broadway, Cassopolis. Designs can also be emailed to monicam@cassco.org. The deadline to submit a design is Friday, May 22, 2026.
In addition to being featured as this year’s “I Voted” sticker distributed at polling places, the winning designs will be recognized on Cass County’s social media platforms and website.
Participants must attend a Cass County high school or live in Cass County.
Questions should be directed to Cass County Clerk/Register Monica McMichael at monicam@cassco.org or (269) 445-4464.
