Since becoming chair of the board of commissioners in January, Jeremiah Jones has made a priority of recognizing County employees, residents, volunteers and others during Board of Commissioners meetings. Now, area creatives have an opportunity to join in on the fun.
Previously, Jones and his predecessors handed out pins featuring the County seal during recognitions. As the County’s supply of pins began to run low, Jones had the idea to hand out coins similar to the challenge coins presented in various branches of the Armed Forces. In the County’s case, the coins will serve as literal tokens of appreciation, congratulations, or commemoration.
To facilitate even more collaboration between the County and its constituents, Jones has initiated a contest to seek designs for the new coin, which will feature the County seal on one side, and the winning design on the other. Jones is so passionate about highlighting positive happenings in Cass County that he volunteered his own funds to pay for the coins.
Participants must be Cass County residents. Designs should be flat, vectorized images, rather than photos, and should represent Cass County in some way.
Submissions will be accepted between now and June 14. A winner will be selected during the June 15 meeting.
