| SCORE Michiana Social Media Workshop
The SCORE Michiana Chapter, counselors to small businesses, will be presenting a 1-1/2 hour Social Media Business Workshop on Wednesday, May 22nd at 10:00 a.m. at the Niles District Library, 620 E. Main Street, Niles. Nicole Sunstrum, Social Engagement Coordinator for the State of Michigan, will be the presenter. The workshop is for small business owners, startups and not for profits wanting to improve their promotional skills through social media. The workshop is free but pre-registration is required. The 2013 Summer Free Fishing Weekend will be held Saturday, June 8th and Sunday, June 9th. | New CCW Printed Permits
The Clerk/Register's Office is pleased to announce new credit card quality CCW printed permits! Now there is no need to purchase passport quality photos. We simply capture a digital photo as well as a digital signature at the time of application. Both are printed on hard plastic cards comparable to your Michigan driver's license. The cost for a printed card is $10 and replaces the $10 printed photo fee (this charge is in addition to the $105 application fee). Cass County Clerk/Register Monica Kennedy is excited to announce the sale of County Plat Books in the Clerk/Register's Office. These books are great informational tools for everyone but are especially useful to hunters, fisherman and farmers. The books include maps of county highways, city streets, townships as well as area lakes. The township maps include details such as property owner names and acreage that are current as of 2012. All data is gathered from Cass County records. The books are available at a cost of $20 plus tax. To purchase, please visit the Clerk/Register's Office at the Cass County Building, 120 N. The second is “ History of Cass County, Michigan” by A. Mathews. This second reprint of the 1882 publication is one of the best sources of early Cass County History and Pioneers.  | Dispose of Your Unwanted Prescription or Over the Counter Drugs Safely
Wanted: Old or undesired prescription and over the counter drugs. The Cass County Sheriff's Office is now providing a permanent drop box as a way to safely dispose of prescription and over the counter medications, vitamins, and other supplements. Sorry, liquids, patches, sharps or lancets cannot be accepted. The drop box is located at: Cass County Sheriff's Office, 321 M-62, Cassopolis, MI 49031. Open 24 hours a day 7 days a week.
